A fabulous place to stay! Staff super helpful and lovely, room spacious and clean and a great location only few minutes walk from the ferry but they also offer complimentary pick up and drop off from the ferry - much appreciated with luggage and in the summer heat. The island itself has a lovely vibe and very different to the busy cities we also visited. Its particularly peaceful in the evenings after the day trippers leave. The ropeway then hike to the summit is a must do first thing in the morning to avoid the day tripping crowds and queues. The shopping/market arcade is pumping during the day and mostly shuts down come late afternoon. We left it too late to find a restaurant which seem to close fairly early so if we were to come back, we’d make a booking at the restaurant.

The hotel was amazing. Beautiful large room and some lovely yukatas for us to wear. Although I didn't get to fully enjoy the onsen (due to medical reasons) , my partner did and it was outstanding. I was kindly allowed to dip my feet in the waters and it felt great. The hotel staff were very kind and allowed us to store our luggage in the lobby after checkout so we could visit a shrine that we missed. They also had a shop at the hotel were you buy the yukatas from the hotel and over various items. As we had been traveling alot prior we also used the washing machine to clean our clothes which the staff showed us to use. The staff also spoke good English so if you don't know much japanese you will be okay.

I booked dinner and breakfast. I had an amazing experience for both - and there is really quite a lot to eat, especially at dinner. The Japanese-style room was bigger and more comfortable than most other Japanese-style rooms I've stayed at. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful, with really good English, and always very friendly. My stay at Miyajima was truly a wonderful experience and a third of it is due to the hotel. (The other two thirds are the beauty of the island and the quiet of the place in the evening and early morning, truly peaceful.)

Wonderful Ryokan hotel experience Friendly helpful staff Excellent location, immaculately clean and tidy hotel Complimentary courtesy bus from Myajima ferry to the hotel Super room, comfortable ryokan beds with a view of the pagoda and mountains Easy accessibility to the ropeway and Tori gate Wonderful experience of exploring Myajima in the evening and the illuminated Tori Gate Lovely local evening meal in Myajima that served fantastic local food

Personal boutique hotel. Service was fantastic, very helpful. A traditional hotel, a little different for us sleeping on the floor but it was a fun experience as a family. We also did their traditional dinner. It pushed us out of our comfort zone, wish they explained a little more about the dishes and the order to eat them, but we had a great time and the food was good. Thank you.
